1/2 cup of shortening
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg beaten
2 cups of flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 cup of milk
2 1/2 cups of fresh blueberries
Recipe
Cream the shortening and sugar; add the beaten egg and mix
well. Mix together and sift flour, salt and baking powder;
add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Spread dough
in a greased 8x8x2 inch pan. Spread the blueberries over dough.
Mix and sift together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and 3/4
teaspoon cinnamon; cut in 1/3 cup of margarine or butter and
a crumbly mixture results. Spread this mixture over the
blueberries. Bake in a moderately hot oven, 375 degrees F.
for 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Serve warm from the oven.
