Christmas: Holiday Cookies

List of Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Almond Extract
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Nutmeg
3/4 cup finely chopped green and red cherries
1/2 cup finely chopped toasted* almonds
Recipe
1. Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla and almond extracts. Sift flour with nutmeg, then stir into butter mixture. Add cherries and almonds. Chill dough 30 minutes.
2. Shape into rolls 1-inch in diameter. Wrap in wax paper and chill 30 minutes. Dough may be frozen at this stage and baked as needed. Slice dough into 1/4-inch thick slices.
3. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in preheated 375°F oven 5-7 minutes, or until edges are golden. Cool on wire rack. Store in airtight container.
Note: Use either candied or maraschino cherries. If maraschino cherries are used, drain chopped cherries well on paper towels.
*Toast almonds in nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly. Set aside.
