Cookie Dough Ingredients
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
Other Ingredients
16 ounce can vanilla frosting
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
Mini candy-coated chocolate for eyes
Recipe
In a large bowl, cream peanut butter, butter and sugars until fluffy. Add
eggs and vanilla and mix well. Sift flour and soda together and add to dough
until barely incorporated. Roll dough into pecan-sized balls and place on
ungreased cookie sheets. Press down slightly with a fork. Bake at 350
degrees for 5-7 minutes. When cookies are cool, spread 1 teaspoon frosting
on the back of one cookie and press another back on top to make a bug body.
Repeat with remaining cookies and frosting. Gently dip bug bodies into
melted chocolate. Place on parchment paper to dry. Snip licorice strings
into 6 legs per bug. Press 3 legs into each side of bug. Add candy eyes to
finish.
Yields about 4 dozen bugs.
