2/3 cup cornflake crumbs
2/3 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 envelopes onion soup mix -- 2/3 cup
2 tablespoons shortening
Recipe
Combine all ingredients except shortening and mix until well blended;
use your fingers to cut in shortening. Pour into a jar and cover
tightly; label with directions.
To use: For every 8 pork chops, pour 1/2 to 2/3 cup mix into a plastic
or paper bag. Moisten pork chops with water, shaking off excess,
shake, one or two at a time, in the bag with mix until coated. Place
chops on a rack in a shallow pan; sprinkle any extra onion bits on
top. Bake at 425 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes for 1/2-inch chops; 40
to 45 minutes for 1-inch chops. Always cook pork well.
Serves 8.
