Oven Fried Chicken with Biscuits

1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup Bisquick® baking mix
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 pounds chicken -- cut up (up to 3 lbs. total)
whole cloves
16 ounces peach halves in syrup -- drained
2 cups Bisquick® baking mix
1/2 cup cold water
Recipe
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Melt shortening and butter in oven in 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Blend
1/2 cup Bisquick, the salt, paprika and pepper; coat chicken pieces.
Place chicken skin side down in shortening mixture.
Bake uncovered 35 minutes. Insert a clove in each peach.
Stir 2 cups Bisquick with water to a soft dough. Gently smooth dough
into a ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 5 times.
Roll dough 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured 2-inch cutter.
Turn chicken, pushing pieces to one side of pan. Spoon excess fat from
pan. Place biscuits in a single layer next to chicken. Arrange peach
halves on top of chicken.
Bake 15 minutes longer or until biscuits are a light brown and chicken
is tender.
Serves 4.
