    1 cup dried chili peppers or
    3/4 cup crushed hot red pepper flakes
    1/4 cup ground cumin
    2 tablespoons garlic powder
    1 tablespoon dried oregano
    1 tablespoon cayenne-more if desired

    Recipe



    Remove stems and seeds from the chili peppers and
    chop roughly or shred with a sharp knife. (using gloves
    or being very careful to keep hands away from eyes until
    washed well.) Place all ingredients in blender and process
    to a powder. Allow the mixture to set for a few minutes
    before removing lid. Store in a covered container. Most
    likely this will be stronger than many of the commercial
    chili powders, so use less and taste before adding more
    to your dish.
