    Recipe Introduction

Make this beautiful cheese round the center piece of your appetizer table. Delicious served warm surrounded by crackers, bread, vegetables, sliced pears and apples.

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds
5 sheets frozen phyllo dough, thawed
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 round (14 to 18 ounces) Brie cheese, chilled

    Recipe

Preheat oven set to convection at 375°F.

Place almonds on 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Cook in preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown; set aside to cool.

Stack sheets of phyllo dough and cut sheets into a 12-inch square. Brush each sheet with melted butter, keeping remaining phyllo dough covered with damp towel. Re-stack phyllo squares; sprinkle 1/4 cup of almonds in center of phyllo.

Place Brie on top of almonds. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup almonds on top of Brie. Fold two opposite corners of dough to center of cheese. Fold remaining two corners to center and press dough around cheese to conform to its shape. Turn wrapped Brie over and place on 15x10x1-inch pan. Use leftover phyllo dough to cut decorative shapes; brush with melted butter before arranging on top.

Cook in preheated convection oven at 375ºF for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 20 minutes before serving.
    Makes 15 servings.

    For traditional (non-convection) baking:

Preheat and bake temperature: 400ºF Time: 15 to 20 minutes
