    Tangy Buffet Meatballs

    List of Ingredients

    MEATBALLS:
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 C. breadcrumbs
    1/3 C. onion, finely minced
    1/4 C. milk
    1 egg, beaten
    1 T. fresh parsley, minced
    1 tsp. salt
    1 T. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 C. vegetable shortening


    SAUCE:
    12 oz. jar Heinz chili sauce
    10 oz. jar grape jelly


    Recipe

    For meatballs, combine all ingredients except shortening, cili sauce & jelly; mix well. Shape to form 1-inch balls. Heat shortening in a skillet over medium heat, add meatballs & cook for 10-15 min. or until browned. (NOTE: I bake on rack in shallow baking pan in 400° oven for approx. 15 inutes or until desired doneness). Drain on paper towels. Wipe out pan.

    For sauce, combine ingred. in large pan or dutch oven. Cook over low heat, stirring occassionally, until mixture is well blended. Add meatballs & heat thoroughly. Transfer to chafing dish or crockpot. Stir occasionally.
    *can add cocktail weiners or use instead of meatballs
