    this is great to keep on hand for unexpected guests.

    OPTION: the flavor of the cake mix & fruit can be varied (i.e.; chocolate cake with cherry, yellow cake with pineapple, peaches or cherry. Spice cake with apples,etc. - may use 8-1/2 oz. of regular-sized cake mix.

    List of Ingredients




    1 (20-24oz.)can applie pie filling
    1 pkg. yellow cake mix (1 layer)
    1 stick butter
    1/2 C. chopped nuts (pecan or walnut)


    Recipe



    Pour pie filling into a buttered 8x8x2" baking pan. Cover with dry cake mix. Drizzle melted butter over cake mix. sprinkle with nuts.

    Bake at 375° for 35 - 45 minutes, or until brown. Serve warm or cold. Can be reheated. Good with ice cream.


    NOTE: This recipe calls for 1 layer cake mix.
    You may use a two-layer box mix with 2 cans of fruit
    filling & bake in 9x13" pan.
