Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 5 large peeled, cored, and sliced Granny Smith apples; 1 cup sugar; 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon; and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Sauté 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
