    Tomato Soup French Dressing

    Source of Recipe

    You Asked For It

    Recipe Introduction

    Q. I used to have a delicious French dressing recipe made with tomato soup. Can't locate it and would appreciate your printing one if you have one.

    A. We do indeed have a Tomato Soup French Dressing recipe in the files. It makes about 3 cups but keeps well for up to a week. It is a very flavorful dressing with the addition of Worcestershire sauce, mustard and garlic along with the tomato soup, oil, some sugar and vinegar.

This is a wonderful and different dressing for any green salad or seafood salad.

    List of Ingredients

1 (101/2-ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 cup salad oil (we use canola)
    ½ teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard (we use Dijon)
1 medium garlic clove, well minced
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
    1/4 to ½ cup sugar
½ cup apple cider or white vinegar

    Recipe

In a nonreactive large mixing bowl, whisk all ingredients together, including the salt and sugar to taste, in the order given. Refrigerate until ready to use, whisking well before each use. Makes about 3 cups.
