Oreo Ice Cream Delight

Recipe Introduction
Kristi served this to Mommy for the Mother's Day Luncheon when in kindergarten. The whole class prepared an entire meal and made the decorations for the luncheon.
List of Ingredients
46 Oreo cookies, crushed
1/2 C. butter, softened
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream (in square box)
1 small can Hershey's chocolate syrup
(may substitute large jar of Hershey's fudge topping)
8 oz. Cool Whip
1/2 C. chopped walnuts (optional)
Recipe
1. Combine cookies crumbs & butter; mix well. Press into bottom of 9X13" pan (looks pretty in glass dish).
2. Slice ice cream (1/2" thick) & place it over the cookie mixture. Spread evenly as it softens.
3. Spread the Cool Whip on top.
4. Drizzle chocolate syrup over top.
5. Sprinkle with nuts, if using.
6 Freeze until firm.
** if substituting fudge sauce: warm sauce slightly to spread more easily, then layer on top of ice cream before topping with Cool Whip.
