    The sweet and savory flavors of this Louisiana one-pot meal are bound to please hearty appetites. Just add a salad.

    List of Ingredients




    4 pork loin chops 4
    1 can (540 mL/ 19 oz)* cajun spice stewed tomatoes plus 75 mL/ 1/3 cup water 50 mL dry white wine†† or water 1/4 cup
    5 mL dry marjoram 1 tsp
    2 mL dried thyme 1/2 tsp
    1 mL salt 1/4tsp
    1 mL pepper 1/4 tsp
    175 mL long-grain white rice 3/4 cup
    50 mL raisins 1/4 cup

    Recipe



    Trim fat from pork chops; use trimmings to grease large skillet over medium-heat, then discard. Brown pork chops on both sides.
    Add tomatoes, water, wine, marjoram, thyme, salt and pepper; bring to boil. Stir in rice and raisins. Cover and simmer over low heat 25 to 30 minutes or until pork is no longer pink inside and rice is tender.
    *Recipe has been developed for use with 19 oz. or 28 oz. can sizes. Nutritional analysis based on 19 oz. size only.
    If using 28 oz. can size, do not add 75 mL/ 1/3 cup water.
    Makes 4 servings.
