Devilled Sausages with Mash

Recipe Introduction
This is supposed to feed four for under $10. My kids like less sausages and more potato. Anyway an easy school night meal.
List of Ingredients
- 12 beef sausages (560g pack)
- 4 potatoes, peeled and chopped
- milk
- butter
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 brown onion, thickly sliced
- 1 cooking apple, cut into wedges
- devilled sausage mix (eg maggi cook-in-the-pot)
- parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook potatoes in salted water until soft. Mash with a little butter and a splash of milk (or cream). Season well.
- cook sausages in a non-stick frypan. Turn often to brown evenly. Remove from pan and keep warm.
- add onion and apple to pan and saute for 2 minutes until onion begins to soften. Add devilled sausage mix and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir until boiling.
- Return sausages to pan, cover and simmer over low heat untilsausages cooke right through.
- Serve sausages in sauce with mash and sprinkle with parsley.
