    Devilled Sausages with Mash

    Recipe Introduction


    This is supposed to feed four for under $10. My kids like less sausages and more potato. Anyway an easy school night meal.


    List of Ingredients


    • 12 beef sausages (560g pack)
    • 4 potatoes, peeled and chopped
    • milk
    • butter
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 brown onion, thickly sliced
    • 1 cooking apple, cut into wedges
    • devilled sausage mix (eg maggi cook-in-the-pot)
    • parsley for garnish (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Cook potatoes in salted water until soft. Mash with a little butter and a splash of milk (or cream). Season well.
    2. cook sausages in a non-stick frypan. Turn often to brown evenly. Remove from pan and keep warm.
    3. add onion and apple to pan and saute for 2 minutes until onion begins to soften. Add devilled sausage mix and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir until boiling.
    4. Return sausages to pan, cover and simmer over low heat untilsausages cooke right through.
    5. Serve sausages in sauce with mash and sprinkle with parsley.
