    as an alternative serve with couscous or in a wrap


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 small onion, chopped finely
    • 3 cloves garlic, chopped finely
    • 1/3 cup firmly packed, fresh mint leaves
    • 1/4 cup firmly packed continental parsley leaves
    • 750g lamb mince
    • 2 tsp ground cumin
    • 2 tsp ground coriander
    • 1/3 cup packaged breadcrumbs
    • oil for shallow frying
    • pepper and salad for serving
    • 200ml plain yoghurt
    • 2 tbs lemon juice
    • 2 tbs water
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric


    Instructions


    1. Process onion, garlic and fresh herbs until finely chopped. Place in bowl with lamb mince, spices and breadcrumbs. Mix well (best use your clean hands)
    2. Divide mixture into 12 equal portions; roll and press into 13cm long sausage shapes
    3. Heat oil in a large pan, add koftas, cook until browned all over and cooked through.
    4. Combine yoghurt, lemon juice, water, garlic and turmeric in a small jug to make dip/sauce
    5. Insert medium sized wooden skewer into each kofta (not if using them in wraps). Top with yoghurt dip, sprinkle with pepper and serve with salad
