Recipe Introduction
I don't know what the connection with oslo is, I just know it is what dad called them. They are the best ever salad sandwiches
List of Ingredients
- 3 slices whole grain bread (birdseed bread) per person
- 1 slice cheese per person
- lettuce, shredded
- tomato, sliced
- cucumber, sliced
- tinned sliced beetroot
- finely chopped onion
- grated carrot
- finely chopped celery
- butter (if you like)
Instructions
- butter bottom slice of bread, place cheese on it and top with another slice.
- Build it up with all the salad ingredients you have (omit whatever fussy people wont touch)
- add salt and pepper if you like and top with another buttered piece of fresh bread.
- Eat straight away. These do not keep well in my opinion.
Final Comments
Dad once said the right way to have them is with a glass of milk and an apple. I think I might prefer a fresh squeezed apple juice and you can keep the milk
