Recipe Introduction
The most obvious use for this sauce is stir it through fresh pasta...YUM
It is also good on a schnitzel with some grated cheese, as a pizza sauce, with poached eggs and wood oven toast and has probably dozens of other uses. It cn be frozen.
List of Ingredients
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 425g can tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbs fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 brown onion, chopped
- 4 tbs tomato paste
- 1 tbs fresh oregano, chopped
- freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Heat oil in pan. Saute onion and garlic 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, water, sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer 20-25 minutes or until sauce thickens.
