    Spaghetti Sauce

    Source of Recipe

    Dianna Boggs Eiler

    Recipe Introduction

I loved it when Mom made this sauce. It made the house smell so good, and it is so much better than anything you can buy. It makes spaghetti night special, to have homemade sauce. You can also make this in a crockpot as well.

    List of Ingredients

    Meatballs:
    2 ½ -3 lbs. ground beef
    1 onion -diced
    3 Tbsps. Parmesan cheese
    5 slices bread – crumbs
    2 eggs
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    Enough milk to moisten

    Sauce:
    1 large can tomato juice
    2 cans tomato sauce
    1 large can diced tomatoes
    1 large onion diced
    1 green pepper – diced
1 stalk of celery or use celery salt
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. chili powder
Brown sugar – to individual taste
Cloves, thyme, oregano – to taste
    3 tsp. salt
    1 tsp Worcester sauce
    Dash red hot sauce
    About 1 Tbsp olive oil
    1 -2 bay leaves

    Recipe

    Meatballs:
Mix well with hands. Make into 1 ½ - 2 inch meatballs. Place on large baking tray and bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes. Drop meat balls into the sauce below. Let simmer for at least 4 hours. Taste when close to being done and add more spices if necessary.

    Sauce:
Mix together in large pot. Add meat balls.
