Sausage/Bean Soup

List of Ingredients
3-4 (15 oz.) cans great northern beans-rinsed and drained
1 ( 15 oz) diced tomatoes
½ cup chopped onion
2 med carrots- chopped
2 cups cabbage-chopped
1 cup celery - chopped
Sauté vegetables and sausage in 1 tbsp each butter and oil. Add some white wine. Add 1 tbsp caraway seeds and finish sautéing
Recipe
Add 4 cups water and tomatoes.
Add:
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1 lb. smoked sausage cut into bite size pieces
Let simmer for 1 hour. Add drained beans and heat thoroughly
Serve topped with slice of cornbread
