    THE MAMA'S COOK BOOK - Jean Aaron

    List of Ingredients




    1/4 cup shortening
    1 tbsp. salt
    2 tbsp. sugar
    1 cake yeast
    1 cup boiling water
    4 cups flour
    1 egg

    Recipe



    Put shortening, salt and sugar in bowl. Add boiling water. Cool to luke warm and add 1 well beaten egg. Stir in yeast that has been dissolved in 1/2 cup lukewarm water and 1/2 tsp. sugar. Then add flour. Cover and place in refrigerator over night. Roll out on floured board and cut. Dip half the roll in melted butter and fold over. Cover with cloth and allow to rise for about two hours before baking.
