    THE MAMA'S COOK BOOK - Mrs. W. J. Revell

    List of Ingredients




    1 pt. boiling water
    1/2 pt. meal
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 pt. sweet milk
    1 egg
    1 tbsp. sugar
    1 tbsp. butter or lard

    Recipe



    Pour 1 pint boiling water over 1/2 pint meal. Cover tightly and place on back of stove a few minutes, first adding 1/2 tsp. salt. Add to this 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 pint sweet milk, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. sugar and 1 tbsp. butter or lard. Let cook for about 30 minutes, then serve in the dish in which it was baked.
