    THE MAMA'S COOK BOOK - unknown (Mrs. Essie Rivers possibly)

    Recipe Introduction


    Temp. 325; Baking time 1 hour

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup egg whites (8 eggs)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 cup cake flour sifted before measuring
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond (could be flavoring??)

    Recipe



    Add salt to egg whites, beat until foamy. Add cream of tartar and contniue beating until stiff, add sugar gradually using a folding motion, add vanilla and mix thoroughly. Cut and fold in flour (which has been sifted 4 times). Pour in ungreased tube pan. When taken from oven invert pan, when cool remove from pan.
