Blackberry Jam Cake

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cup blackberry jam
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup raisins, chopped and floured
3 tbsp. milkRecipe
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add well beaten egg yolks and blackberry jam. Sift together soda, baking powder and spices; add to creamed mixture alternatively with milk and raisins. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into two greased and floured cake pans; bake in moderate oven. Put together with your favorite white icing.
