    List of Ingredients




    1 lb seeded raisins
    1 lb seedless raisins
    1/2 lb candied cherries
    1/2 lb candied pineapple
    1 lb figs
    1/2 lb citron
    1 lb dark brown sugar
    1 cup dark Karo syrup
    4 cups flour
    6 eggs
    1 glass sherry
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    3 tsp cloves
    3 tsp cinnamon
    3 tsp baking powder
    1 1/2 lbs pecan meat (chopped pecans)

    Recipe



    Cream the butter and sugar, add beaten eggs. Sift flour. Then take out one cup of flour for dusting the fruit. Sift the other flour with the spices and dry ingredients. Add the flour mixture and the fruits and nuts alternately, with the Karo and wine to the eggs and butter mixture. Mix thoroughly, using a large pan, grease and paper. Bake in a low oven 300 F for around five hours or until done.
