Recipe Introduction
Pretty as a picture and yellow as gold.
List of Ingredients
2 cups sifted Softasilk flour
1 1/3 cups sugar
3 tsp double action baking powder
1 tsp salt
Add:
1/3 cup high grade shorting
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp lemon extract
1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix with electric mixer on medium spead for two minutes.
Add:
1/3 cup milk
4 medium unbeaten egg yolksRecipe
Beat 2 more minutes, pour batter into 2 prepared pans, pan size 8" round layers. Cook at 350 (moderate oven). Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Cool. Frost with White Mountain icing.
