Recipe Introduction
The MAMA'S COOK BOOK was prepared by the Pre-School Group of the Louisville (Georgia) Parent Teacher Association many years ago when most women knew the ins and outs of cooking. Therefore part of the directions are sometimes left out.
List of Ingredients
1 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup milkRecipe
Cream margarine; add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition, add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Put in well greased loaf pan, dusted with flour. Bake in moderate slow oven (300 to 350 degrees) from 1 to 1 1/4 hours. One half cup of chopped nut meats may be added after all flour is added if desired. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
