    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. white raisins
    1/4 lb. preserved citron
    1 lb. preserved pineapple
    1 lb. preserved cherries
    1 lb. nut meats
    1/4 cup pineapple or orange juice
    1/4 tsp salt
    3 cups flour
    1 1/2 tbsp vanilla
    1 cup shortening
    1 cup sugar
    5 eggs
    2 tsp salt
    2 tsp baking powder

    Recipe



    Cut fruits and nuts coarsely; mix well with 1 cup of the flour. Cream shortening, add sugar slowly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift remaining 2 cups flour with salt and backing powder; add to mixture alternately with fruit juice and flavoring. Fold in the floured nuts and fruits. Pour into 2 loaf pans which have been greased and lined with heavy waxed paper. Bake at 300 degrees 2.5 hours.
