Recipe Introduction
The MAMA'S COOK BOOK was prepared by the Pre-School Group of the Louisville (Georgia) Parent Teacher Association many years ago when most women knew the ins and outs of cooking. Therefore part of the directions are sometimes left out.
List of Ingredients
1/2 lb. butter
2 cups flour
1 cup eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. vanilla
Recipe
Cream butter with flour. Add salt and baking powder to eggs and beat until light. Add sugar gradually and beat until egg mixture is thick. Combine two mixtures and beat thoroughly. Add lemon juice and vanilla. Bake in tube pan for 1 hour at 375 degrees or moderate oven.
