Ribbon Fruit Cake

The directions did not explain how to mix the two parts together to make a ribbon cake. Please use your creativity.
List of Ingredients
Black Part:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 cups browned flour
6 egg yolks
1 1/2 lbs. raisins
1 lb. currants
1/2 lb. citron
1/4 lb. nuts
2/3 cup of wine
1 tsp soda dissolved in water
1/2 tsp. each of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs beaten well. Then add fruit and last soda. Suggestion: Bake a test cake and add more flour if needed.Recipe
White Part:
6 egg whites
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sweet cream
2 1/2 cups flour
2 heaping tsp of baking powder
1 lb. almonds, chopped fine
1/2 lb. grated coconut
1/2 lb. citron chopped fine
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 small slice of sugared orange peeling
Cream sugar and butter, add cream, sifted flour, nuts, etc. Then fold in egg whites beaten stiff.
