White Fruit Cake

List of Ingredients
6 eggs
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup white wine
2 lbs. white raisins
1/2 lbs. crystallized pineapple
1/2 lbs. crystallized cherries
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 qt. shelled nuts
Recipe
Cut and mix fruit and nuts. Flour well to prevent fruit from sinking in the pan. Line tube pan with several thicknesses of brown paper and grease well.
Cream butter and sugar well. Add alternately to this mixture the sifted dry ingredients and one egg at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add fruit and nuts, blend well, add wine. Bake in tube pan at 275 degrees until cake responds to the pressure of the hand, about 3 hours.
