Recipe Introduction
The MAMA'S COOK BOOK was prepared by the Pre-School Group of the Louisville (Georgia) Parent Teacher Association many years ago when most women knew the ins and outs of cooking. Therefore part of the directions are sometimes left out.
List of Ingredients
3 cup sugar
4 tbsp. chocolate
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp. white Karo syrup
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
1 1/2 cup nuts
Recipe
Mix sugar and chocolate, add milk, Karo and salt. Put on stove to boil. Stir until dissolved and starts boiling, then do not stir until done. For testing, remove from heat when it forms a soft ball in a cup of cold water. Remove from flame and add butter and vanilla. Let cool. Beat until creamy then spread on cake and add nuts if desired.
