    Recipe Introduction


    The MAMA'S COOK BOOK was prepared by the Pre-School Group of the Louisville (Georgia) Parent Teacher Association many years ago when most women knew the ins and outs of cooking. Therefore part of the directions are sometimes left out.

    List of Ingredients




    2 oz. chocolate, finely cut
    1 1/2 cup milk
    7 tbsp. milk
    4 tbsp. butter
    1 tbsp. corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Recipe



    Place chocolate, sugar, corn syrup and salt in sauce pan. Bring slowly to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly, and boil briskly 1 minute. On a rainy or very humid day boil mixture 1 1/2 minute. Cool to lukewarm, add vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread. If frosting becomes too thick add a little cream or soften over warm water. Makes enought frosting for tops and sides of two 8" layers.

    Nut Fudge Frosting
    Add 1 1/2 cups of nuts to frosting before spreading.
