    THE MAMA'S COOK BOOK - Frances Burns

    List of Ingredients




    1 dozen oranges
    1 1/2 dozen lemons
    1 1/2 cups crushed pineapple
    1 small bottle Maraschino cherries
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    5 lbs. sugar

    Also
    Water
    1/2 gallon carbonated water

    Recipe



    Sqeeze fruit, cover rinds with 1/2 gallon boiling water. Leave until cool. Make a syrup with 5 lbs. sugar and 1/2 gallon of cold water. Boil, cool and add to fruit juices, then add another 1/2 gallon cold water. Squeeze rinds and strain and pour into fruit mixture. Just before serving add 1/2 gallon carbonated water.
