    OLD-FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup butter, softened
    • 8 slices bread, toasted
    • 1/3 cup raisins (optional)
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups PET Evaporated Milk
    • 2 cups boiling water
    • 2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 4 teaspoons sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter toasted bread. Cut toast into cubes and place in greased 13x9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle raisins over toast, if desired. Thoroughly beat eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, evaporated milk, boiling water and vanilla. Pour mixture over toast and let stand 10 minutes. Combine remaining 4 teaspoons sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over bread. Place dish in shallow baking pan. Pour hot water into pan to a depth of one inch. Bake 60 to 65 minutes or until knife inserted one inch from edge comes out clean. Remove dish from water. Serve pudding warm or chilled. Makes 8 servings.
