    PORK CHOP CASSEROLE


    List of Ingredients


    • 4 loin pork chops, trimmed
    • 1 small head of young cabbage
    • 1 cup cream
    • 1/2 cup dry white wine
    • pinch of sage
    • 1/4 cup butter
    • pinch of salt
    • pinch of fresh ground pepper
    • Fresh grated Parmesan cheese


    Instructions


    1. Remove outside leaves of cabbage and slice in about 1/2" slices (not fine like cole slaw).

    2. Return to stove and season it with salt and pepper, add the cream and simmer covered, 10 to 15 minutes.

    3. Meanwhile brown pork chops on both sides in butter until cooked through. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper.

    4. Boil cabbage about 5 minutes, drain thoroughly.

    5. De-glaze the pan with the wine and a good pinch of sage, simmer about two minutes then add to cabbage.

    6. Spread 1/2 of the cabbage in bottom of a casserole dish. Place pork chops on top and cover the chops with remaining cabbage mixture. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese and a little melted butter.

    7. Bake uncovered at 350° oven about 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.
