List of Ingredients
3/4c. flour
3T. sugar
1t. shredded lemon peel
6T. butter
1 slightly beaten egg yolk
1/2t. vanilla
3-8oz packs cream cheese , softened
1c. sugar
2T. flour
1/4t. salt
2 eggs
1 egg yolk
1/4c. milk
cherry sauce, Optional
Recipe
crust:
combine 3/4c flour, 3T sugar, 1/2t lemon peel, cut in butter till crumbly. stir 1 slightly beaten egg yolk and 1/4t vanilla. pat 1/3 of the dough onto the bottom of a spring form pan, with sides removed. bake 400 degrees for 7 minutes or till golden browen, cool.
butter the sides of pan and attach to bottom. pat remaining dough onto sides, set aside.
Filling:
beat together the cream cheese,remaining lemon peel and vanilla till fluffy,set aside.
stir together the 1 c sugar,2T flour,and salt, gradually stir into cream cheese.
add add the 2 eggs and 1 yolk all at once, beating on low just till combined, stir in milk. pour into pan.
Bake 450 oven for 10 minutes. reduce heat to 300 bake 50-55 minutes more, or till toothpick comes out clean. cool 15 minutes. loosen sides of cheesecake from pan with spatula. cool 30 more minutes. remove sides of pan, cool about 2 hrs longer, chill.
