Strawberry simple syrup gives this strawberry green tea its fresh, summery flavor. The green tea pictured here is Hojicha, a roasted 'twig tea' from Japan. Lindsey Goodwin
The recipe below outlines two ways to make strawberry iced green tea: one quick and one slow.
Ingredients:
• For quick iced green tea, 1 tbsp. green tea (such as Bancha, Sencha or Hojicha)
•
• For slow iced tea, 1 tsp. green tea (such as Bancha, Sencha or Hojicha)
•
• 1 cup simmering water
• 5 tsp. strawberry simple syrup **This category under OT:
• For quick iced tea, 1 cup ice cubes
• For slow ice cubes, a few ice cubes (optional)
Preparation:
Steep the green tea in the simmering water for three minutes. Strain.
If making quick iced tea, add the strawberry simple syrup, stir and then add ice cubes and serve in two glasses.
If making slow iced tea, add the strawberry simple syrup, chill the strawberry tea in the fridge for several hours, and then add ice to taste just before serving.
