Yield: Makes about 2 cups
This is a wonderful sweet marinade that can be used on most meats and even vegetables. However it works really well on beef.
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup/120 mL low-sodium soy sauce
• 1/2 cup/120 mL mirin (sweet cooking sake)
• 1/2 cup/120 mL pineapple juice
• 1/4 cup/60 mL brown sugar
• 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon/15 mL fresh grated ginger
• pinch of salt and pepper
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and pour over meat or vegetable of choice.
If making ahead, store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to one week after preparation.
