    Quick French Salad Dressing

    Yield: about 1/3 cup. - 2-3 servings

    This simple dressing has served me for many years. Using this basic recipe, I can easily make simple variations, usually with ingredients I have on hand. As a result, I have always made my own salad dressings. -Carolyn Ozment, Gaylesville, Alabama

    Ingredients:
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 tablespoons vinegar
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • Dash pepper

    • Salad greens

    Directions:
    1. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the oil, vinegar, salt, garlic and pepper; shake well. Serve over salad greens.

    1 serving (2 tablespoons) equals 162 calories, 18 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 103 mg sodium, trace carbohydrate, trace fiber, trace protein.
