Cabbage Casserole

- 4 cups cabbage
- salt
- water
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts
- Mix:
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 medium onion; cut fine
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (sharp or mild)
- Mix:
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 cups corn flakes or Ritz crackers, crushed fine
Instructions
- Butter casserole dish
- Cook 4 cups cabbage in water with salt. Drain well.
Spread cabbage in buttered casserole dish.
- Pour 1 can sliced water chestnuts over cabbage.
- Mix together: 1 can cream of celery soup; 1/2 cup mayonaise; onion; 1/2 cup grated cheese.
Spread over casserole.
- Mix: 1 stick margine; 2 cups corn flakes or Ritz crackers.
- Sprinkle over casserole and bake at 400 for 15 to 20 minutes.
