Recipe Introduction
During baking, a sponge-like top forms over the creamy custard botton.
List of Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbls. flour
- 4 tbls.lemon juice
Instructions
- In mixing bowl, beat egg whites until stiff; set aside.
- In large bowl, beat yolks until thick and lemon-colored.
- Slowley add sugar, flour, then milk and lemon juice, beating until well mixed.
- Fold in egg whites until they become tiny white puffs in the batter.
- Pour filling into 9 inch unbaked pie shell.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
- Remove and cool completely.
