Nasi Goreng-Indonesian chilli rice dish

Recipe Introduction
Use a WOK
you can use any meat and mix different types of meat instead of just one kind if you'd like
Have ready :
A plain omelet -set aside
List of Ingredients
- meat - cut in strips if possible
- 1 leek sliced
- 2 large carrots sliced
- Half head of cauliflower cut into bite size bits
- Half head of broccoli cut into bite size bits
- PASTE:
- 1 onion
- 3-4 cloves garlic
- 3 tsps of dried tumeric ( fresh:just a couple of small roots)
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder (or to taste)
Instructions
- Make a paste in a blender or food processor with the last four ingredients.
- Heat oil in WOk
- Put in the paste first and add meat- cook quickly
- Add leek, cauliflower,broccoli,carrots and you may need a little water -let cook alittle
- to taste - add some soy sauce (aprox 1tbs) ,salt and pepper
- Put a lid on the Wok and let it steam until the veggies are tender.
- Slice up the omlet and add it to the dish
- Serve over white rice- or have a bowl of aprox 2 cups white rice and pour it over rice - mix it together well and serve
Final Comments
It sounds more complicated then it is. I found it rather quick to do. You don't need to make anything else to go with it either!
