This cookie recipe I found in an old magazine. It's kid tested - as all my recipes are!
List of Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup butter flavored crisco
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon sifted all purpose flour, divided
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups quick cooking oats, uncooked
1 package vanilla chips
1 cup crushed walnuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350dg.
Combine sugar, brown sugar, crisco, eggs and vanilla in large bowl. Beat with mixer at medium speed until well blended.
Combine 1 1/2 cups flour with baking soda and salt. Stir into creamed mixture with spoon. Stir in oats and nuts.
Stir in vanilla chips. Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls; flatten slightly. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 11 to 13 minutes until slight moist in center and just beginning to brown around edges. Remove cookies immediately to cooking rack. Store in tightly covered container.
