    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 4 tblsp. cocoa
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 cups flour
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 1 tsp. soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 2 eggs
    • FROSTING:
    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 4 tblsp. cocoa
    • 1/3 cup milk
    • 1 pound powdered sugar
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 1 cup chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. FOR CAKE: Combine flour and sugar in bowl, set aside. In saucepan combine butter, shortening, water and cocoa, bring to a boil, pour over flour and sugar, mix well. Add buttermilk, soda, eggs, and vanilla. Beat well. pour into 11x16x1 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. While baking prepare frosting. When cake is done, pour on frosting and spread.

      FROSTING: combine margarine, cocoa and milk, bring to a boil. Take off heat, add remaining ingredients, beat until smooth. When slightly cool, spread over warm cake.
