    List of Ingredients


    • 1 tablespoon yeast
    • 1 1/2 cups warm water
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 5 to 5 1/2 cups flour
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • pretzel salt


    Instructions


    1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat in honey, then gradually add 3 cups of flour, beating well until mixture pulls away from bowl in stretchy strands.
    2. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead until smooth and satiny, about 10 minutes.
    3. With knife cut off small pieces of dough and roll into 10 inch ropes and place on cookie sheet in the shape of pretzels.
    4. Let rise in warm place for 15 minutes or until slightly puffy. brush each with egg beaten with a little water and sprinkle with pretzel salt.
    5. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
