    List of Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 cups flour
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 teaspoon dry yeast
    • 3 eggs

    Instructions

    1. Heat butter and milk until warm (120 to 130 degrees.) While milk mixture is warming on the stove, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast in mixer bowl.
    2. Gradually add milk mixture to dry ingredients. Beat together for about 2 minutes. Add 2 eggs plus one egg yolk (save remaining white to brush tops.) Add 1 cup flour and beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Gradually add remaining flour and knead until smooth and elastic.
    3. Place in greased bowl, turning to place oiled side up. Cover with towel and raise to double. Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut into circles.
    4. Place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart, brush with beaten egg white. Let raise one hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

    Final Comments

Note: For large buns use a #2 can (peaches, etc.); for small buns use a tuna can.
