    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/4 cups sugar
    • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    • 2 1/4 cups water
    • 1/2 teaspoon lime zest
    • 1/2 cup lime juice
    • 1 1/2 cups milk
    • 2 egg whites
    • 1/4 cup sugar


    Instructions


    1. Combine sugar and gelatin in saucepan. Stir in water and zest. Heat to boiling, simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in lime juice, strain into freezing canister.
    2. Cool 30 minutes, then stir in milk. Beat egg whites until foamy and double in volume. Beat in 1/4 cup cugar, add to mixture in canister and freeze according to manufacturers directions.
    3. Add a little green food coloring if desired. Makes about 2 quarts.
