    Peach Cobbler

    Source of Recipe

    My mother

    Recipe Introduction

This is my all-time favorite cobbler recipe. The batter puffs up and surrounds and covers the fruit. Best served warm with half and half poured over.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup softened butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 cups flour
    • 4 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 large can peaches, plums or other fruit can be substituted
    • 1/2 to 1 cup sugar
    • 2 cups juice from fruit

    Instructions

    1. Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Beat until smooth. Pour into a 9X13-inch pan.
    2. Spoon fruit over batter. Mix sugar and fruit juice to taste and pour over top.
    3. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown in 375 degree oven.
