    Jumbo Raisin Cookies

    List of Ingredients





    2 c. raisins
    1 c. water or fruit juice
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. chopped nuts, optional



    Recipe



    Boil raisins in water or juice for 5 minutes. Cool. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add raisins. Stir in dry ingredients. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
