Layered Banana Pudding Dessert

2 ripe but firm bananas
1 package (3 ounce) vanilla pudding mix (cook and serve)
1 cup vanilla wafer cookies, crushed
1 cup whipped topping or sweetened whipped cream
1 package (3 ounce) strawberry-flavored gelatin powder
Recipe
Take a 8 x 8 inch square pan, grease it with butter and spread half of crushed wafers. Prepare the pudding mix and pour hot pudding over the crumbs. Cut one banana into slices and arrange over pudding, and give a layer on top with remaining crumbs. Cool for 1 hour. Prepare gelatin and cool for 30 minutes until partially set. Pour this mixture over crumbs. Slice the remaining banana and give a layer over gelatin. Spread whipped cream as topping all over. Chill this dessert for 2 hours before serving.
